Meet the Buddhas – Prayers to Great Mother Prajnaparamita

A monthly event throughout the year focused on meeting and engaging in the practice of different Kadampa Deities. Enjoy a rare opportunity to engage in these very special chanted prayers that help us to make our life more meaningful. No need to book and no fee, just drop in!

The prayers start at 5.00 pm and the duration varies based on the prayer booklets (sadhana) we use. 

Great Mother Prajnaparamita is a female Buddha who is the manifestation of Buddha’s perfection of wisdom – wisdom motivated by the supremely compassionate good heart of bodhichitta.

Although we all wish to be happy, again and again we find our attainment of happiness frustrated obstacles or hindrances – both external and internal. When our mind is filled with negative thoughts and delusions, such as attachment, anger and ignorance, we experience great harm and suffering. They prevent us from maintaining a peaceful mind, and also destroy whatever happiness we may have gained.

How to join in? 

In Person at Vajrapani Kadampa Buddhist Center

The Woods, 345 Jan Smuts Ave, Upper level, Craighall Park, 2196

 Please use the Rothesay Avenue entrance to the parking lot. Park at Baby City and use those steps to come up to the Upper Level courtyard.

Please arrive 10 – 15 minutes before the event starts to register and settle in.  We have a book shop to browse, water on sale. There is secure and ample parking.
